[Review] Tokyo Belly

Getting this post out first, since it is relatively new and still under soft opening at Grand Indonesia. Tokyo Belly is the newest venture from Ismaya Dining. Serving Japanese food, it is similar to Mr. Curry, under the same group.

The layout did not change much, just with some tweaks here and there. However, Le Sister personally likes this layout better, as it is more open, unlike previously where it it covered by their glass display.

We're not sure if this is a temporary menu, or it'll still be the same after it's grand opening, but some of the dishes on the menu wasn't available yet when we tried it.

Le Brother had the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice (58thousand), which came out really quick, but cold. We'd rather have the dish take some time to come out, but hot. It tasted okay though, and you can choose the level of spiciness for the curry dish, he had normal spicy.

Le Sister had the Tokyo Belly Classic, for 48thousand, ramen served in chicken broth with chicken chasiew, black fungus, egg and seaweed. This dish came out relatively fast too, and wasn't piping hot. If you look closely, the egg was rather disintegrated, it didn't came in a perfect half. Which disappoint Le Sister greatly, since it was her favourite part of any ramen. The chicken chasiew came burnt as well, and it actually taste burnt too! The only good thing about this dish, was that it was well seasoned.

Overall, the food was good but not great. They tasted okay, but nothing special. Not one where we could see ourselves coming back for more. Especially in Grand Indonesia where you are spoilt for food choices.
